Once we receive your application, our Partner Selection Committee will review it.
If your application gets accepted, we will then set up an interview with you to discuss in more detail your situation and
needs.
A customized training program to suit your needs would then be designed and a potential dog
would be acquired to be trained if one is not available at that time in our program.
Canine Care Assistance Dogs offers a quality training program focusing on the special needs of the
human partner.
• Clients may have their own
dogs trained for service work, provided that each dog meets the criteria of Canine Care trainer evaluations.
•
Our clients are very involved in there training program. This involvement creates a special relationship to
be formed between partner and dog early in the working relationship, and allows our trainers to customize the skills
being taught.
• Canine
Care does not have a "waiting list". Application, interview, approval of applicant for the program and the training
program needed is established in a professional and prompt manner.
• All of our dogs are kept in homes with a program trainer, not
in a kennel.
• We train with positive methods, quality standards, and offer lifetime support
to all service dog team graduates.
• During the application process
Canine Care works together with the applicant to develop a skills list, training program and cost estimate.
PLEASE NOTE: We would like to mention
that Assistance/Service Dogs are not meant for everybody. They require a great deal of responsibility. Assistance Dogs are
highly trained, intelligent canines but they are still dogs. They must be cared for daily. Service Dogs require time, effort
and attention on a daily basis for food and water, affection, grooming, obedience training, skill training, play, and work
in the capacity they were trained to do.
