I am only one, but still I am One.
 I cannot do everything,

But still I can do something; I will not

refuse to do the Something I can do.

U-Otter-Read-It

Hi, I’m OTTER and as an Assistance Dog I work hard all day. My partner takes a lot of looking after!

So, after a Ruff  day, there is nothing I like better than a happy

T A I L ,  A rrr fffff ,     I mean TALE!

Here’s a favorite of mine! It’s really good!  Run out, find it. Rest your paws. Grab your favorite chew toy. Curl up on a comfy place, and enjoy!

THE PAWETRY CORNER

        A POEM TO MY FOSTER

               SERVICE DOG

By Anonymous

I am the bridge,
Between what was and what can be.
I am the pathway to a new life.

I am made of mush,
Because my heart melted when I saw you,
Matted and hungry, limping, depressed
Lonely, unwanted, afraid to love.

For one little time you are mine.
I will feed you with my own hand.
I will love you with my whole heart.
I will make you whole.

I am made of steel.
Because when the time comes,
When you are well, and sleek,
when your eyes shine,
And your tail wags with joy
Then comes the hard part.

I will let you go-not without a tear,
But without a regret.
For you have a partner. A job to do --
A new dog needs me now.

My Special Friend

By Angie C. with love to her daughter Anna & service dog Layla.

I'm sitting here all by myself
No one around to help me
When all at once to my relief
A face appears beside me

It's not my mom or my dad
My sister or my brother
It's a face I've learned to trust
A face that's like no other

My service dog to lend a paw
A nudge, a lick, a bark alert
She's here to put my mind at rest
To ease the fear and soothe the hurt

My life has been forever changed
I'll never be the same again
For an angel sits beside my chair
My very special service friend.

 A Proud Partner idea …
Next time you see someone with an assistance dog, feel free to approach the person and say hello. Maybe you'll want to ask how long they have had their dog or what its name is. Be sure to say hello to the person first and remember not to pet the dog without permission.
